Macy Dunne began dancing at the age of three and trained with Giacobbe Academy of Dance for fifteen years. She studied ballet, pointe, tap, and jazz and was an assistant teacher for two years. She performed for the Delta Festival Ballet production of the Nutcracker for ten years as well as other productions through the New Orleans Youth Ballet for eight years. Additionally, Macy was given the opportunity to train on scholarship with the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City for two weeks in both 2012 and 2014. Currently, Macy is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with a Minor in Dance from Louisiana State University. Through the LSU dance program, Macy has been able to perform in New York City, Tennessee, Boston and Spain. Other performance opportunities in which she participated include performing for the grand opening of the Jefferson Performing Arts Theater, performing with the LSU Dance Ensemble for 4 years, and performing in Of Moving Colors production of Kick It Out in 2015. Macy now dances professionally with Of Moving Colors Contemporary Dance Theatre (OMC) under the artistic direction of Garland Goodwin-Wilson. Macy is excited for this next step in her dance career, and looks forward to sharing her knowledge, experience, and training in ballet and pointe to the aspiring dancers at RAVE Performing Arts Company.
